    La geografía y las relaciones internacionales son una oportunidad para revisar los cambios geopolíticos que se han producido en el Indo-Pacífico. Esta región está experimentando profundas transformaciones estratégicas, marcadas por el ascenso de China y la intensificación de la competencia con Estados Unidos. La inestabilidad en la zona y los focos de tensión que se están desarrollando han fomentado un fuerte crecimiento del gasto en defensa. No fue ninguna coincidencia que Macron declarase por primera vez su visión estratégica de Francia en el Indo-Pacífico en el marco de una visita a Australia para fomentar las relaciones bilaterales y la firma de acuerdos de venta de material para la defensa; acuerdos que se han visto rotos de golpe tras la firma del tripartito AUKUS entre Australia, Estados Unidos y Reino Unido. En este artículo trataremos de explicar los desafíos que tiene Francia en la región y cuál puede ser su estrategia después de AUKUS.

    Geography and international relations are an opportunity to review the geopolitical changes that have occurred in the Indo-Pacific. This region is undergoing profound strategic transformations, marked by the rise of China and intensifying competition with the United States. Instability in the area and developing hotbeds of tension have fuelled strong growth in defence spending. It was no coincidence that Macron declared for the first time his strategic vision for France in the Indo-Pacific in the framework of a visit to Australia to boost bilateral relations and the signing of an agreement for the sale of arms, an agreement that has suddenly been broken after the signing of AUKUS, the tripartite between Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. In this article we will try to explain the challenges that France has in the region and what its strategy can be after AUKUS.
