    El artículo ofrece una visión panorámica de los conventos de clarisas (OSC) en An-dalucía, de los que quedan fuera otras ramas franciscanas, desde los comienzos hasta nuestrosdías, y en donde se analiza la dificultad de su estudio en razón sobre todo de su hermetismoy diversidad de ramas. Estudia así mismo el proceso de creación y los agentes sociales que lohicieron posible y se aportan cuadros completos con las fechas de fundación y desapariciónen su caso. El patrimonio artístico se estudia de forma sintética y se ofrecen referencias de loscasos más sobresalientes tanto de su arquitectura como de su imaginería y pintura. Concluyecon breves referencias a la vida comunitaria y a las características espirituales más notables.Se incluye una amplia bibliografía.

    The article offers a panoramic vision of the convents of nuns of the Order of St Cla-re (OSC) in Andalusia, outside which there also exist other Franciscan branches, from the be-ginnings until the present day; we analyze the difficulty of studying them in particular becauseof their hermetic nature and the diversity of branches. The article likewise studies the processof creation and the social agents who it made possible, and provides comprehensive pictureswith the dates of foundation and disappearance as appropriate. The artistic heritage is studiedsynthetically and references are made to the most outstanding examples both of its architectureand of its imagery and painting. It concludes with brief references to the community life andto the most notable spiritual characteristics. An extensive bibliography is included.
