    Este trabajo analiza el marco normativo por el que se rige la organización y el funcionamiento del Comité Económico y Social Europeo. Se resalta su carácter de órgano que actúa en representación de los intereses económicos, sociales y de la sociedad civil organizada dentro de la Unión Europea. El funcionamiento habitual de sus órganos y la relevancia de los documentos que elabora el Comité completan la aportación. Dentro de su función consultiva destaca la elaboración de dictámenes a petición de determinadas instituciones europeas o por propia iniciativa.

    This work analyzes the regulatory framework governing the organization and functioning of the European Economic and Social Committee. Its character as a body that acts on behalf of economic, social and organized civil society interests within the European Union is highlighted. The regular functioning of its bodies and the relevance of the documents prepared by the Committee complete the contribution. Within its advisory function, the preparation of opinions at the request of certain European institutions or on its own initiative stands out.
