    Se presenta una investigación sobre la vida y obra del arquitecto e ingeniero militar, natural de Pavía (Italia), Hércules Torelli que tuvo una especial relación con la ciudad de San Sebastián y a quien ésta le debe, entre otras cosas, la creación de la Plaza Nueva, hoy plaza de la Constitución. Se aportan nuevos datos e hipótesis sobre las circunstancias de su venida al reino de España.

    We provide in this work an investigation into the life and work of the military architect and engineer Hércules Torelli, a native of Pavia, Italy, who had a special relationship with the city of Donostia-San Sebastián and to whom the city owes, among other things, the creation of the Plaza Nueva, today Plaza de la Constitución. New data and hypotheses are provided on the circumstances of his coming to the kingdom of Spain.
