  El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar la evolución en español de la construcción verbal vivir + gerundio. El estudio se aborda desde la gramática de construcciones diacrónica y permite dibujar la trayectoria histórica seguida por esta construcción desde su emergencia en el siglo XV hasta la actualidad. La diacronía de vivir + gerundio marca una diferencia dialectal importante, que deslinda el español de España del español de América, donde la construcción ha avanzado de manera más notable.

  The main aim of this paper is to analyse the evolulion of the Spanish verbal construction vivir + GERUND, 'to live + gerund'. The study is based on diachronic construction grammar and describes the evolution of the construction from its rise in the 15th century until the 21th century. The evolution of vivir + GERUND shows an important dialectal diflerence, which distinguishes Spanish in Spain from Spanish in America, where the construction evolved in a more notable way.
