México
From the presentation of the main arguments used to implement the new educational paradigm, the neoliberal, --based on an economic approach, which highlights concepts such as quality, competence, efficiency, results--, in substitution, from 1982, of the old Mexican educational model, the nationalist and revolutionary, based on humanistic criteria and in the pedagogy of the action, --that put the accent on terms such as equity, coverage, social commitment--, the present text seeks, using the methodology of quantitative research, direct and indirect, present the hard data that support the scarce or null results of this approach, that has been applied for 36 years, and explain the current crisis of the Mexican educational system, public and private, paying special attention to public education. The final claim of the text is, incorporating the qualitative methodology to the analysis of these data, present a projection of the future, an inference, what is waiting for us if we do nothing to change this model, as well as a curriculum rescue proposal as a conclusion.
