This paper contributes to the debate on the pertinence of the categories of Left and Right to address the conflicts within Peronist factions in Argentina during the seventies. Through oral and written sources, it analyzes the disputes on higher education policies between the University of Buenos Aires and the National Executive Power shortly after the beginning of Isabel Perón’s government. Additionally, moderates, centrists, and so claimed equidistant positions are observed, concluding that Left and Right Peronism are valid categories as poles of a continuum rather than as dichotomous and mutually exclusive expressions, even in a context of polarization and centrifugal competition within the party
