Cómo financiar el terrorismo: el caso de las Brigadas Rojas italianas (1970-1988)

    En este artículo se analizan las diferentes maneras de financiación que utilizaron las Brigadas Rojas italianas para llevar a cabo sus ataques y mantener una estructura clandestina durante casi veinte años, entre 1970 y 1988. De acuerdo con las investigaciones realizadas para este estudio, se detectan principalmente tres vías de financiación: atracos, secuestros y ayudas externas. Gracias a los datos de los que disponemos hoy es posible afirmar que a través de estas tres fuentes se logró la casi totalidad de la financiación de las Brigadas Rojas.

    This article analyses the different means used by the Red Bri-gades to fund their clandestine structure and to launch attacks over a period of almost twenty years, between 1970 and 1988. In relation to the activities of the Red Brigades, the findings of the research re-veal three main financial sources: robberies, kidnappings, and external funding. Thanks to information that has been made currently available, it is possible to affirm that practically all the Red Brigades’ financing was secured through these three channels.
