Resumen de Patrimonio geocultural: los colores de Donosti (Gipuzkoa)

  El patrimonio cultural construido que se conserva en una ciudad está íntimamente ligado a la naturaleza de los materiales uti- lizados para su edificación. La roca como material de uso tiene gran valor desde tiempos prehistóricos. En época más reciente el tipo de litología empleada en construcción define el carácter de las diferentes urbes, aportando colores y texturas que se asocian con esa ciudad. Donosti tiene un interés turístico internacional y conserva numerosas muestras de su patrimonio construido. Hemos seleccionado cuatro edificios de gran interés arquitectónico y que dotan a la ciudad de ese carácter lujoso y de esplendor que envuelve el paisaje. Estos edificios se analizan desde un punto de vista geológico y arquitectónico, carac- terizando su construcción histórica y las diferentes rocas utilizadas. De este modo disciplinas como geología, arquitectura o historia entrelazan sus investigaciones de modo transdisciplinar (Damas-Mollá et al., 2019). Donosti se pinta del amarillo de sus areniscas eocenas combinado con grises, rosas y rojos de diversas calizas cretácicas, aunque algunos edificios se maqui- llen con vivas pinceladas de otras rocas ornamentales exóticas. Los resultados sirven para crear contenido divulgativo en rutas geomonumentales (Aranburu et al., 2010), talleres para alumnado, prácticas o vistas guiadas específicas.

  Cultural heritage building preserved in a city is intimately linked to the nature of the materials used for its construction.

  Rock as a material of use has been of great value since prehistoric times. In more recent times, the type of lithology used in construction defines the character of different cities, providing colours and textures that are directly associated with that city. Donosti has an international tourist interest, and it preserves numerous samples of its built heritage. In this work, four buildings of great architectural interest have been selected, which provide the city with its luxurious character and splendour that envelops the landscape. These buildings are analysed from a geological and architectural point of view, characterising both their historical construction and the different rocks used. In this way, disciplines such as geology, architecture or his- tory intertwine their research in a transdisciplinary way (Damas-Mollá et al., 2019). Donosti paints yellow of its Eocene sandstones combined with greys, pinks and reds of different Cretaceous limestones, although some buildings are painted with brightly coloured brushstrokes of other exotic ornamental rocks. Results may serve for elaborating informative content in geomonumental routes (Aranburu et al., 2010), workshops for students, practices or specific guided tours.
