Resumen de Perspectiva científico-social del cambio climático en el marco de la docencia universitaria

  A pesar del escepticismo de una parte de la sociedad, existe un consenso científico sobre los efectos a corto plazo que tiene la acción humana en el clima. Sin embargo, para poder afrontar la crisis climática que estamos atravesando necesitamos que las nuevas generaciones sean conscientes de todos los efectos sociales que estarán asociados a la intensificación de los eventos climáticos extremos. Por esta razón un grupo de profesores de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid de distintas faculta- des, tanto de ciencias como de humanidades, decidimos solicitar un proyecto Erasmus+ de la modalidad KA2-Asociaciones Estratégicas para desarrollar una asignatura multidisciplinar sobre cambio climático que incluyera no solamente aspectos científicos, sino también la parte social y ética del problema. Además hemos contado con otras universidades y organismos del entorno mediterráneo: el Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (Portugal), la Universidad de Basilicata (Italia), la Universidad de Akdeniz (Turquía) y el Instituto de Formación y Educación Industrial y de Negocio (IVEPE-SEV, Grecia) ya que, según todas las previsiones, el arco mediterráneo será uno de los lugares más afectados en Europa por el cambio climático.

  In spite of the skepticism from a portion of society, there is a scientific consensus on the short-term effects that human action has on climate. However, to tackle the ongoing climatic crisis we need that the new generations become conscious of all the social effects that will be associated to the abundance of extreme climate events. For that reason, a group of professors of the Complutense University in Madrid from a variety of faculties (from Arts and Science) have applied for an Erasmus+ project (KA2-Strategic Associations) with the objective of developing a multidisciplinary subject on climate change that will cover not only the scientific aspects, but also the social and ethical part of the problem. Furthermore, we have included other Universities and Organisms from the Mediterranean realm, such as the Polytechnic Institute from Bragança (Portugal), the Basilicata University (Italy), the Akdeniz University (Turkey), and the Industrial and Business Education and Training Ins- titute (IVEPE-SEV, Greece), because according to the estimations, the Mediterranean arch will be one of the most affected places in Europe by climate change.
