    Varias decenas de manifestantes se concentraron en el cementerio madrileño de la Almudena el sábado 13 de febrero de 2021, para rendir homenaje a los soldados de la División Azul que murieron en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En un momento del acto, una oradora, dijo textualmente: “El enemigo siempre va a ser el mismo, aunque con distintas máscaras: el judío. El judío es el culpable y la División Azul luchó por ello”.

    Esas palabras de odio son el origen de esta investigación, en la que vamos a rastrear vestigios, herencias y resurrecciones de lo que hemos denominado la estética del mal. Indagando y reflexionando sobre la simbología y la imagen heredada del fascismo y del nacionalsocialismo, a través de la cultura y la estética en nuestro tiempo. Un universo de segregación y odio, inscrito en una sociedad occidental epidérmica marcada por el individualismo y el consumismo.

    A group of demonstrators meet at Madrid’s Almudena cemetery on Saturday 13 February 2021 to pay tribute to the Blue Division soldiers who died in the Second World War. At one point during the ceremony, a speaker said: “The enemy will always be the same, although with different masks: the Jew. The Jew is the guilty one and the Blue Division fought for it”.

    These words of hate are the origin of this research, in which we will trace vestiges, legacies and resurrections of what we have called the aesthetics of evil. Inquiring and reflecting on the symbolism and image inherited from fascism and national socialism, through culture and aesthetics in our time. A universe of segregation and hate, inscribed in an epidermic western society marked by individualism and consumism.
