Resumen de La arqueología del presente y la reconstrucción del pasado: el ejemplo de las casas redondas.

  Este artículo quiere mostrar mediante un ejemplo el potencial (y los límites) de los estudios arqueológicos que se ocupan tanto del pasado como del presente sin una distinción drástica. La investigación del presente puede ser fuente de ideas para la reconstrucción del pasado y la investigación del pasado puede ayudar a entender mejor el presente y sus orígenes. Tales estudios también pueden ilustrar que ciertos fenómenos de la cultura material del ser humano aparezcan en distintas épocas y en distintas zonas – con o sin relación entre ellos – y así plantear preguntas generales sobre el comportamiento humano. En esto es importante investigar las sociedades contemporáneas y su cultura material sin valoración evolucionista y sin el con-cepto erróneo de que en ciertas sociedades preindustriales aisladas la pre- y protohistoria se ha fosilizado. Como ejemplo se ha elegido las casas de planta redonda que existen tanto en el pasado como en el presente en varias regiones del mundo, entre ellas la Península Ibérica.

  This article aims to show by an example the potential (and limits) of archaeological studies that address both past and present without drastic distinction. The research on the present can be a source of ideas for the reconstruction of the past and the research on the past may help to better understand the present and its origins. Such studies may also illustrate that certain phenomena of the material culture of the human being appear at different times and in different areas – with or without relationship between them – and thus raise general ques-tions about human behavior. In doing so it is important to conduct the research on contemporary societies and their material culture without evolutionary valuation and without the misconception that in certain isolated preindustrial societies pre- and early history has fossilized. As an example, roundhouses that exist both in the past and present in various regions of the world, including the Iberian Peninsula, were chosen.
