New Mythes and Ancient Rites. Niccolò Ammaniti and the Regressive Fantasy · In the dystopian and science fiction novel Anna, Niccolò Ammaniti writes the story of the main character, setting it in a desolate scenario in which Earth has been ravaged by a terrible pandemic. The literary theme is not new, but part of the novel’s originality is offered by many interesting literary and extra-literary references. Sometimese these are explicit and sometimese they are not. Thus, in addition to references to famous novels, such as The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, there is no lack of references to paleo-anthropology nor to pop-culture (movies, tv series, comics) suited to the literary genre chosen by the author.

Nel romanzo di anticipazione distopica Anna, Niccolò Ammaniti narra la vicenda della protagonista ambientandola in «un panorama desolante nel quale la Terra è stata sconvolta da una micidiale pandemia. Il tema letterario non è nuovo, ma parte dell’originalità del romanzo è offerta da numerosi richiami letterari ed extra-letterari, talvolta espliciti e talvolta impliciti. Non mancano quindi, oltre a riferimenti a celebri romanzi, come Il Signore delle Mosche di William Golding, né riferimenti alla pop-culture (movies, tv series, comics) né riferimenti antropologici adeguati al genere letterario scelto dall’autore.
