    El modelo editorial de libro no fue habitual en el mercado de los tebeos hasta bien entrados los años sesenta. En este artículo se describe el contexto socioeconómico de España para luego discutir cómo evolucionó el formato editorial "libro" desde el recopilatorio hasta el álbum pasando por el libro híbrido o el bolsilibro oportunista. El modelo de libro franco-belga fue posiblemente el que familiarizó al lector español de tebeos con este formato.

    Comics with the book format was not common in the Spanish comic market until the last 1960s. This article describes the socioeconomic context of Spain and, after that, discusses how this editorial format evolved from the compilation book to the cartoné album, passing through the hybrid book or the opportunistic pocketbook. The French-Belgian book model was possibly the one that familiarized the Spanish comic reader with this format.
