    La ubicación geográfica de los territorios vascos y de Navarra, fronterizos o próximos al límite con Francia, propició que recibieran la visita tanto de monarcas como de soldados a lo largo del Antiguo Régimen, pero había algún componente más que condicionaba las mismas. La existencia de marcos jurídicos particulares en estos territorios, así como sus peculiares engarces en la Corona de Castilla, propiciaron que ambos tipos de visitas adquirieran significados relevantes para los habitantes e instituciones de las cuatro entidades territoriales principales de la Vasconia ibérica. En este trabajo analizamos las lógicas seguidas en ambos tránsitos, prestando especial atención a las normas jurídicas gestadas para regularlos, así como a las improntas que dejaron en los caminos.

    Erregimen Zaharrean, monarkak eta soldaduak euskal lurraldeetara eta Nafarroara bisitan joaten ziren, horien kokapen geografikoa dela eta (Frantziarekin mugan edo Frantziako mugatik gertu). Baina, bisita horiek egiteko beste arrazoi batzuk ere bazeuden. Esparru juridiko berezia zuten lurraldeok, eta lotura bereziak zituzten Gaztelako Koroarekin. Horiek direla eta, bi bisita motek esanahi garrantzitsuak hartu zituzten Baskonia iberiarreko lau lurralde-entitateetako herritar eta erakundeentzako. Lan honetan bi igarotzeetan jarraitutako logikak aztertzen ditugu, arreta berezia jarrita horiek arautzeko zehaztutako arau juridikoei eta bideetan utzi zituzten eraginei.

    The geographical location of the Basque territories and Navarre, bordering on or close to the border with France, led to visits by both monarchs and soldiers throughout the Old Regime. But there was also another component that conditioned them. Their status as territories endowed with a particular legal framework, as well as their peculiar connections with the Crown of Castile, allowed both types of visit to acquire important meanings for the inhabitants and institutions of the four main territorial entities of Iberian Vasconia. In this article we analyse the logic followed in both types of transit, paying special attention to the legal rules developed to regulate them, as well as the marks they left on the roads.
