El conocimiento de la anatomía ha permitido representar y modificar figuras atendiendo a la expresividad del cuerpo humano desde la creación artística. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre la anatomía humana y el arte en la historia basada en 18 citas obtenidas de diversas fuentes, con el objetivo de describir las manifestaciones de la anatomía humana en las ramas del arte a lo largo de la historia. Desde la prehistoria, la anatomía humana ha sido un tema preferido en el mundo del arte. Los estudios de Hipócrates, Aristóteles, Galeno y otros padres fundadores de la anatomía dieron pautas para la comprensión del cuerpo humano. En el Renacimiento fueron renovados por artistas como Leonardo Da Vinci y Vesalio, que estudiaron los cadáveres y los representaron en la pintura como componente esencial de la medicina científica, que seguiría en desarrollo en siglos posteriores. Hoy, los saberes de anatomía han trascendido como en un recurso de la creación artística en lo digital, lo real, incluso lo mixto entre ellos.

Knowledge of anatomy has made it possible to represent and modify figures taking into account the expressiveness of the human body since artistic creation. A bibliographic review on human anatomy and art in history was carried out based on 18 quotes obtained from various sources, with the aim of describing the manifestations of human anatomy in the branches of art throughout history. Since prehistoric times human anatomy has been a favorite subject in the art world. The studies of Hippocrates, Aristotle, Galen and other founding fathers of anatomy gave guidelines for understanding the human body. In the Renaissance they were renovated by artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Vesalius who studied the corpses and represented them in painting as an essential component of scientific medicine, which would continue to develop in later centuries. Today, the knowledge of anatomy has transcended as a resource of artistic creation in the digital, the real, even the mixed between them.
