Resumen de Desafíos contemporáneos de las Ciencias Sociales y las Humanidades: Reflexiones a partir de la experiencia del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos

This essay gives an account of the emergence of the Center for Latin American Studies (CELA), within the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecaudor (PUCE). CELA was a space for the production of reflection and the generation of contextual thought, created in the context of the university reform of the PUCE in the 1970s. Due to particular circumstances, philosophers such as Rodolfo Agoglia, Arturo Roig and Enzo Roig converged in this center. Mella and the sociologist René Marder, achieving the consolidation of critical and humanistic thought that allows a better understanding of the present from historical knowledge as a social praxis. Second, the essay presents a summary of the main contributions of CELA. Finally, it reflects on the challenges of the social and human sciences in the 21st century, based on the experience of generating a contextual thought that was at the center of the creation of the Faculty of Human Sciences at PUCE.

Este ensayo da cuenta del surgimiento del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos (CELA), en el seno de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecaudor (PUCE). El CELA fue un espacio de producción de reflexión y de generación de pensamiento contextual, creado en el contexto de la reforma universitaria de la PUCE en la década de 1970. Por circunstancias particulares, en este centro confluyeron filósofos como Rodolfo Agoglia, Arturo Roig y Enzo Mella y el sociólogo René Marder, permitiendo la consolidación del pensamiento crítico y humanista, que permitió una mejor comprensión del presente desde el saber histórico como una praxis social. En segundo, lugar el ensayo presenta resumen de los principales aportes del CELA. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre los desafíos de las ciencias sociales y humanas en el siglo XXI, a partir de la experiencia de generación de un pensamiento contextual que estuvo en el centro de la creación de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas de la PUCE.
