The debate around the possibility of other animals—in addition to humans—to manage with concepts and complex mental processes has always been linked to the development of cognitive sciences. This article addresses this topic by critically reviewing some of the mayor points in this debate, not only as a key issue in the current philosophy of biology, but as a major topic in the philosophy of mind.
