Con este trabajo se expondrá que el estudio de la naturaleza y de sus secretos es sumamente relevante para que el proceso formativo del ser humano llegue a buen término, según la opinión de Séneca el filósofo. Se analizarán, pues, dos pasajes de las Naturales Quaestiones en los que queda manifiesta la preocupación del filósofo cordobés por vivir conforme a la naturaleza humana que es, en esencia, buscar la sabiduría: adquirir conocimiento y usar la razón. Por tal motivo,el proceso educativo no podrá consumarse si el hombre olvida vivir conforme a su naturaleza, es decir, si decide no actuar éticamente y se abstiene del perfeccionamiento de su alma y del bien común.
The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that the study of nature and its secrets is highly relevant to complete the human’s educational process, according to Seneca the Younger.
Therefore, two passages of Naturales Quaestiones will be analyzed here in which Seneca’s interest to living in compliance with human nature is clear, i.e., that we must pursue the seeking of wisdom, achieving knowledge, and reasoning. Thus, our educational process won’t be fulfilled if we forget, as humankind, to live according to our own nature; if we don’t act with moral rightness and if we refuse our soul’s completion and commonwea
