Resumen de “Los Lagartos” en las Georgias: una operación psicológica clásica durante la Guerra de Malvinas

Durante la Guerra de Malvinas, a fines de abril 1982, Argentina desarrolló una operación psicológica, para sostener la moral de su pueblo y soldados desplegados en la zona de operaciones luego de la previsible reconquista de las Islas Georgias por parte de los británicos. A través del análisis de la información oficial proporcionada por la Junta Militar, la agencia Télam y las noticias difundidas por los medios de comunicación, transformadas en piezas de acción psicológica, el presente artículo tiene como objetivo reconstruir la operación detallando los hechos reales y ficticios que fueron difundidos por las técnicas de propaganda y subpropaganda, propios de este tipo de guerra. El resultado es la reconstrucción de la saga de “Los Lagartos”, un supuesto comando especial de la Armada Argentina que durante varios días resistió la reconquista británica de las Islas Georgias, provocándoles inusitadas bajas materiales y humanas mientras sobrevivían en un ambiente geográfico extremadamente hostil; epopeya ficticia que debió instrumentarse a partir de que la conducción militar argentina no había preparado a la población para la eventual pérdida del archipiélago y la bravucona amenaza del Almirante Woodward respecto de que “Las Georgias fueron el aperitivo, ahora se trata de la gran trompada que viene detrás”: las Islas Malvinas. During the Falklands War, at the end of April 1982, Argentina developed a psychological operation to sustain the morale of his people and soldiers deployed in the area of operations, after the foreseeable reconquest of the Georgia Islands by the British forces. Through the analysis of the official information provided by the Military Jun-ta, the Telam agency and the news disseminated by the media, transformed into pieces of psychological action, this article aims to reconstruct the operation detailing the real events and fictitious that were disseminated by the techniques of propa-ganda and subpropaganda, typical of this type of war.
The result is the reconstruction of the saga of "Los Lagartos", a supposed special command of the Argentine Navy that for several days resisted the British reconquest of the Georgias Islands, causing them unusual material and human losses while surviving in an extremely hostile geographical environment; fictitious epic that should have been orchestrated since the Argentine military leadership had not prepared the population for the eventual loss of the archipelago and the arro-gant threat of Admiral Woodward regarding that “The Georgias were the aperitif, now it is about the great punch that comes behind ”: the Falkland Islands.
