  En este trabajo nos focalizamos en el estudio de los aspectos referidos a los orígenes étnicos, social y procedencia geográfica de aquellos soldados catamarqueños que participaron en el proceso independentista nacional y americano del siglo XIX. A partir del entrecruzamiento de datos tomando de fuentes oficiales documentales, bibliográfico y de relatos orales rescatados por cronistas periodísticos, buscamos analizar las referencias a sujetos concretos pertenecientes a sectores populares; donde se advierte que desde finales del siglo XIX hay determinados homenajes, compensaciones y reconocimientos que la sociedad impartió a sus héroes que contribuyó a la construcción de la ciudadanía y la identidad nacional como objetos simbólicos de la memoria en determinados momentos y coyunturas históricas, dejando atrás todo tipo de identidades locales o regionales; y que a finales de siglo XX y principios del XXI muchos de estos sujetos dejaron de ser objetos de sentido e identidad pasando a un estado de inadvertencia en la sociedad local. Recibido: 30/6/2020Aceptado: 3/12/2020

  In this paper we focus on the study of aspects related to the ethnic, social and geographical origins of those Catamarca soldiers who participated in the national and American independence process in the 19th century. From the interweaving of data taken from official documentary and bibliographic sources and from oral accounts rescued by journalistic chroniclers, we seek to analyze the references to specific subjects belonging to popular sectors; where we can see that since the end of the 19th century there are certain tributes, compensations and recognition that society gave to its heroes that contributed to the construction of citizenship and national identity as symbolic objects of memory in certain moments and historical junctures, leaving behind all kinds of local or regional identities; and that at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century many of these subjects stopped being objects of meaning and identity and went into a state of inadvertence in local society.
