  • Cyber leisure or cyber leisure is briefly described as the misuse of the Internet in the workplace. Being the Internet a vital resource for organizations today, it becomes necessary to address this issue, although it has been little addressed by technology referents. This work basically consists of the collection and analysis of bibliographic material. With the data collected, some definitions and relevant facts about cyber leisure are presented. Some dangers, costs and problems associated with this practice in organizations are summarized. Some information technologies developed to deal with or to detect cases of cyber-idling are described. In contrast, several positions of various authors who are in favor of this practice are also exposed, with the aim of reaching a conclusion and determining whether it is imperative or not, to stop cyber leisure completely, using any of the mechanisms described, or whether to leave the possibility for this practice to continue in whole or in part.
