  Este artículo tiene como objetivo plantear un nuevo concepto, el Arte de Retorno, que permite dar nombre al proceso de retroalimentación artística entre América Latina y las Islas Canarias en el periodo colonial. El trasiego de influencias en un contexto atlántico y comercial entre Europa y América permite la formulación de este concepto, que se adapta a este viaje de ida y vuelta, y que tiene como protagonistas a los virreinatos y a las Islas Canarias. Del mismo modo, pretendemos observar la medida en que este comercio intelectual influyó en la conformación del patrimonio colonial en Chile.

  The objective of this article is to propose a new concept, the Art of Return, which gives a name to the process of artistic feedback between Latin America and the Canary Islands in the colonial period. The transfer of influences in an Atlantic and commercial context between Europe and America allows the formulation of the aforementioned concept, which adapts to this round trip, and whose protagonists are the viceroyalties and the Canary Islands. In the same way, we intend to observe the extent to which this intellectual trade influenced the conformation of the colonial heritage in Chile.
