    El presente trabajo pretende ofrecer un panorama general del ambiente y las complejas relaciones entre los representantes de las tres principales religiones monoteístas -cristianos, judíos y musulmanes- y las peculiaridades de su convivencia en Tierra Santa en el siglo XVI. Dichas relaciones están marcadas tanto por la diversidad ideológica y vital de estos grupos, como por la diferencia entre las expectativas de los peregrinos españoles que se dirigían hacia aquellas tierras, y la realidad con la que se encontraban al llegar allí. Estas diferencias entre los peregrinos hacen que en sus relatos estos asuntos se aborden desde perspectivas muy diferentes. Lo que resulta incuestionable es el éxito de sus obras en Europa y la difusión que tuvieron entre los fieles cristianos.

    The present work tries to offer a general panorama of the environment and the complex relationships between the representatives of the three main monotheistic religions - Christians, Jews and Muslims - and the peculiarities of their coexistence in the Holy Land in the 16th century. These relationships are marked both by the ideological and vital diversity of these groups, as well as by the difference between the expectations of the Spanish pilgrims who were heading towards those lands, and the reality they encountered when they arrived there. The differences between the pilgrims mean that in their stories, these issues are approached from very different perspectives. What is unquestionable is the success of his works in Europe and the diffusion they had among the Christian faithful.
