    Reflexionando alrededor de la pandemia actual, la COVID-19, y de su agente patógeno, el SARS-COV-2, el maestro colombiano que esto escribe, un apasionado por el método científico, se auto cuestionó sobre la bondad de los virus. Como respuesta surge este escrito de divulgación científica que   exhibe evidencias de las bondades de los virus, en especial la que no tiene precio, la generación de conocimiento.  Por estrategia pedagógica la reflexión se presenta como la cronología de algunos hitos científicos acaecidos durante el siglo anterior.

    Reflecting around the current pandemic, COVID-19, and its pathogen, SARS-COV-2, the Colombian teacher this writes, passionate about the scientific method, asked himself about the goodness of viruses. In response, this scientific disclosure document emerges that shows evidence of the benefits of viruses, especially the priceless one, the generation of knowledge. By pedagogical strategy, the reflection is presented as the chronology of some scientific milestones that occurred during the previous century.
