Entre Babilonia y París: el azar domesticado de Borges a Cortázar

    En Borges, la vida entera se organiza alrededor de una pasión colectiva: el riesgo. Además del tema del azar y el destino, se introduce un tercero: el caos en la sociedad o la construcción de un nuevo cosmos recombinando las ruinas del anterior. Sorteo sobre sorteo se va estructurando un sistema totalitario donde no queda espacio para el libre albedrío, en un entramado cerrado e infinito. En Cortázar, el azar y el libre albedrío se entrecruzan trazando los ejes sobre los que correrán las reglas de un juego -esta vez individual y sin fines pecuniarios-, persiguiendo una ruptura "con las cadenas estúpidas de la causalidad cotidiana". Todo inicia en el subterráneo del metro de París.

    On Borges' fiction, whole life is organized according the rules of a collective passion: risk. Furthermore the topics of chance and fate, the author brings in a third one: chaos in society or, more exactly, the construction of a new cosmos recombining the ruins of the precedent one. Draw after draw, a totalitary system where liberum arbitrium is banned has being constructed. Lottery weaves an unending, closed net. On Cortázar's story, chance and liberum arbitrium crisscross each other tracing axes that will be the privileged paths for a game -this time an individual and non-profit game-, that pursuives the disruption of "the stupid chains of daily life causality". All begins into the Paris metro system.
