MxSIG: Geomática Libre al Servicio del Conocimiento del Territorio

    El Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) pone a disposición de los usuarios el software libre denominada MxSIG, el cual concentra lo aprendido en el Instituto en cuanto al uso e integración de tecnologías de software libre existentes y desarrollo de software institucional para la construcción de Sistemas de Información Geográfica para Internet que permiten la integración de datos geográficos y estadísticos, la consulta de indicadores estadísticos mediante mapas temáticos y el análisis geoespacial.  El desarrollo de esta herramienta está basado en la implementación de estándares internacionales de interoperabilidad de información geoespacial como son servicios de mapas WMS, WMTS o TMS, archivos de datos geoespaciales KML así como servicios estándares de intercambio de datos REST, lo que permite la interoperabilidad con otros sistemas que también implementen dichos estándares.

    The National Institute of Statistics and Geography offers to the users the Free Software called MxSIG, which concentrates what has been learned in the Institute regarding the use and integration of existing free software technologies and development of institutional software for the construction of Geographical Information Systems for the Internet that allow the integration of geographic and statistical data, the query of statistical indicators through thematic maps and geospatial analysis.  The development of this tool is based on the implementation of international geospatial information interoperability standards such as WMS, WMTS or TMS map services, KML geospatial data files as well as standard REST data exchange services, allowing interoperability with other systems that also implement these standards.
