Intervención con paste up en los muros del Centro Cultural Gabriela mistral en Santiago de Chile: Un acercamiento a la resignificación del espacio público

    El Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral [GAM], edificio patrimonial de la ciudad de Santiago de Chile, fue intervenido en múltiples ocasiones con paste-up y diversas formas de expresión artística durante el estallido social iniciado el 18 de octubre de 2019.

    Este artículo da cuenta de una intervención con paste-up con 11 folios en dicho edificio, se registran e interpretan las intervenciones realizadas por los transeúntes en estos paste-up, que muy probablemente se sintieron emplazados, confrontados o interpretados. Las estrategias ciudadanas para manifestarse han sido diversas y esto implica que los patrimonios (como el GAM) comienzan a ser cuestionados, transformándose en un espacio de memoria en permanente disputa y en un lugar de conmemoración a través de las diversas manifestaciones artísticas. Lo que marca una situación epocal.

    The Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center [GAM], a heritage building in the city of Santiago of Chile, was intervened on multiple occasions with pasteup and various forms of artistic expression during the social outbreak that began on October 18, 2019.

    This article gives an account of a paste-up intervention with 11 foils in that building, the interventions made by passers-by in these paste-ups, who most likely felt emplaced, confronted or interpreted, are recorded and interpreted. Citizen strategies to demonstrate have been diverse and this implies that heritage sites (such as the GAM) are beginning to be questioned, becoming a space of memory in permanent dispute and a place of commemoration through various artistic manifestations. This marks an epochal situation.
