    La Plaza Alta de Algeciras tiene su origen en la refundación de la ciudad en el siglo XVIII, pero es en el siglo XIX cuando se urbaniza por primera vez. Ha tenido varias intervenciones a lo largo del tiempo, pero ha sido la modificación de 1930 la que ha tenido mayor repercusión.

    The Plaza Alta of Algeciras has its origins in the re-foundation of the city in the 18th century, but it was in the 19th century when it was first urbanised. It has undergone several alterations over the years, but it is the modification of 1930 that has had the greatest repercussions.
