Resumen de Sidi Amar, ¿una piedra escalera al otro lado del Estrecho?

  Si aceptamos por válidas las conclusiones aportadas tras el estudio de los escasos ejemplos que de estas “construcciones” contamos en el ámbito peninsular y europeo, estaríamos ante un santuario, algo que solo apuntamos tras una análisis exhaustivo de la roca, del trabajo de talla en ella realizado, de los diferentes elementos que convergen en el lugar —agua (manantial, arroyo…), bosque, preeminencia orográfica— y, en el caso tangerino, la pervivencia como lugar sagrado, ya que está junto a un cementerio y su topónimo obedece a un “hombre santo” al que se le rendía culto. Todos estos elementos, además, coinciden con los paralelos que hemos podido conocer a través de la bibliografía.

  Por otro lado, no podemos pasar por alto las semejanzas con la piedra-escalera tarifeña, así como la cercanía geográfica, lo que nos lleva a plantear una posible conexión entre ambas.

  If we accept as valid the conclusions drawn from the study of the few examples of these “constructions” in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe, we would be looking at a sanctuary, something that we can only point to after an exhaustive analysis of the rock, the carving work carried out on it, the different elements that converge on the site —water (spring, stream,...), forest, orographic preeminence— and, in the case of Tangiers, the survival of the site as a sacred place, since it is next to a cemetery and its toponym refers to a “holy man” who was venerated there.

  All these elements, moreover, coincide with the parallels that we have been able to find in the bibliography.

  On the other hand, we cannot overlook the similarities with the rock-staircase of Tarifa, as well as their geographical proximity, which leads us to consider a possible connection between the two
