Resumen de Novos dados palinológicos da transgressão marinha pós-glacial em sedimentos da laguna dos patos, RS, Brasil

The palynological analysis of samples from core TBJ02 and core T-64, collected at the margin of the Patos Lagoon, the distribution of pollen and spores of aquatic and terrestrial higher plants, as well as zygospores, cists of freshwater, brackishwater and marine algae was established along the cores. The palaeoenvironmental and paleoclimatic reconstructions of the region during the Holocene were carried out. The presence of cysts of dinoflagellates, silicoflagellates and acritarchs, diatoms and microforaminifers permited the recognition of marine water ingressions in the Patos lagoon during the course of the PostGlacial Marine Transgression, dated at 7.370 ± 150 y BP. The increase in content of marine algae in the studied sediments in coincide with the climax of this transgression which occurred about 5.500-6.000 years BP when climate was more humid and warmer than during the initial transgressive stage at 7.370 ± 150 years BP and than present.

Estudos palinológicos realizados em testemunhos (TBJ-02 e T-64), perfurados na margem da Laguna dos Patos (RS), permitiram examinar a distribuição de pólens e esporos de plantas terrestres e aquáticas superiores, bem como zigosporos, cistos de algas marinhas, de água doce e salobra. Foram realizadas reconstruções paleoambientais e paleoclimáticas das mudanças ocorridas na região durante o Holoceno. A presença de cistos de dinoflagelados, silicoflagelados, acritarcas, diatomáceas marinhas e carapaças de microforaminiferos permitiram definir o desenvolvimento de ingressão marinha pós-glacial desde 7.730+/-150 anos AP. O aumento na diversidade de algas marinhas nos sedimentos datados de 5.500-6.000 anos AP coincide com máximo desta transgressão, sob um clima mais úmido e mais quente, que durante estágio inicial transgressivo a 7.730+/- 150 anos AP e do que o atual.
