  • Resumen
    • Signed languages are natural human languages used by deaf people throughout the world as their native or primary language. The study of them provides insights into many of the long-standing questions pondered by linguists, such as the nature of duality patterning and the origin and evolution of the human language facility. The analysis of signed languages permits linguists and cognitive scientists to address important questions about the nature of grammaticalization, metaphor, iconicity, and metonymy.
