Resumen de Optimal automated design of linear aluminum alloy extrusion dies

Claudia Ibeth Parra Montero, Rolando E. Simeón Monet, Luis E. Garcia Marrero, Dagnier Antonio Curra Sosa

  • This work presents an optimal model for the design of linear dies for extrusionof aluminum alloys. From the geometry, the final dimensions and the requiredtolerances of the profile to be obtained, the calculation process is automated, takinginto account variables such as the material and its strength, extrusion machinecapacity, aluminum billet temperatures, the area occupied by the distribution ofoutput channels, the thicknesses of the die and the counter die, all supported by thelinking of the main variables in an optimization model developed in MATLAB®, whichlinks the analysis and simulation with CAD/CAE tools (Autodesk Inventor®, ANSYS®).
