    • Internet of Things (IoT) is enhancing the way in which humans co-exists with machinesand stresses each field of computer science due to its proliferic nature. Thereare billions of devices that are getting onboarded and its exponentially growing yearon year (Gartner et al., 2017), which demands the best Quality of Service (QoS) andtight security requirements. Security takes prime importance when it comes to IoTsince huge amount of personal data is being exposed via each device that gets onboardedto the internet and it is an important topic of research (Ivan et al., 2016).Security in the era of IoT should come in simple form but without compromising onhighest possible quality. Edge computing or fog computing (Wikipedia, n.d.) is gettingpopularity because of IoT and the traditional or legacy technologies should be enhancedto cope up with the devices that gets deployed on the edge. Containerizationis the new light weight virtualization (Morabito et al., 2017) which could be appliedto any computing device. This paper discusses the use of containerization on edgecomputing devices to enhance security of the IoT devices. The edge devices providemore than one service as part of the IoT ecosystem and they are an important pieceto enable QoS guarantees in the demanding IoT scenario. We will explore an architecturethat can be used by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and other devicevendors in order to enhance security of these IoT devices using containerization.
