Colombia
Objective: The present research aims to carry out a diagnosis of the degree of knowledge in economic and financial education of a group of apprentices from the Center for Industrial Biotechnology - CBI of SENA Palmira. Theoretical references: This purpose, specifically, leads to identify the knowledge in economic and financial education in a selected group of apprentices from said training organization, where it is suspected that the level of knowledge in this regard is diffuse and imprecise. To do this, we start from the theoretical discussion of the importance of economic and financial education, both in the global context and in Colombia, and the basic categories of economic and financial education: a) savings, b) investment, c) products financial, d) indebtedness and e) budget. Methodology:For this, a fundamentally qualitative methodology is proposed, based on a descriptive survey with quantitative analysis. Results and conclusions: It are concluded that, in general terms, the group of apprentices that was the object of the investigation presents a low level of economic and financial education. However, knowledge regarding the savings category is better compared to the rest of the categories. A method is proposed to measure the degree of economic and financial education in future studies and to seek improvement strategies.
