Beyond the Public Sphere trata sobre la centralidad del cine en la constitución del imaginario social. Mi comentario gira, en primer lugar, en torno a la caracterización conceptual del imaginario social. En segundo lugar, se pregunta sobre el alcance del término Beyond del título, es decir, se interroga acerca de la transformación, cambio estructural o disolución de la esfera pública.

Beyond the Public Sphere deals with the main role of films in the making of the social imaginary. In my paper, I reflect on the conceptual construction of the term ‘social imaginary’. Then, I wonder how far does the ‘Beyond’ in the tittle go —does it mean a change, a structural transformation or the disappearance of the public sphere.
