  Cuando el tiroides no segrega suficiente hormona tiroidea se produce hipotiroidismo (T4 baja y TSH aumentada), cuando es al revés, o sea que hay un aumento de producción de hormonas tiroideas entonces hablamos de hipertiroidismo (T3, T4, aumentadas y TSH frenada).

  Por lo tanto, cuando hay sospecha de patología del tiroides debemos de solicitar un análisis que incluya la determinación de TSH, T4 y T3.

  When the thyroid does not secrete enough thyroid hormone, hypothyroidism occurs (low T4 and increased TSH), when it is the other way around, that is, there is an increase in the production of thyroid hormones then we speak of hyperthyroidism (T3, T4, increased and TSH slowed down).

  Therefore, when there is suspicion of thyroid pathology, we must request an analysis that includes the determination of TSH, T4 and T3.
