    Se ofrece aquí una panorámica del itinerario intelectual de Javier Muguerza, desgranando algunas de sus aportaciones a lo que gustaba denominar “pensar en español”. Sin su carisma y empeño hubiera sido inimaginable que se creara una Facultad de Filosofía en la Universidad de La Laguna. En la UNED su Facultad de Filosofía hubiera tenido una estructura muy diferente y eso mismo vale decir para el Instituto de Filosofía del CSIC. De igual modo, sin su respaldo no se habría gestado el consorcio académico que posibilitó la Enciclopedia Iberoamericana de Filosofía, ni tampoco hubiera existido la revista Isegoría. Esos empeños institucionales y la dedicación a las carreras ajenas le impidieron rematar algunas obras que sus lectores podría componer. Sobre todo cuando se digitalicen los materiales legados generosamente como Archivo por su familia. Su imperativo de la disidencia nos demuestra que cabe leer con provecho a clásicos como Kant.

    Here lies an overview of Javier Muguerza’s intellectual journey, garnering some of his contributions to what he liked to call “Thinking in Spanish”. Without his charisma and persistence, it would have been unthinkable for a Philosophy Faculty to be created at the University of La Laguna. Moreover, at UNED, his Faculty of Philosophy would have had a very different structure and the Institute of Philosophy of the CSIC likewise. In the same manner, his backing turned out to be capital in the creation of the academic consortium that made possible the Ibero-American Encyclopaedia of Philosophy, as well as in the creation of the Journal of Ethics and Political Philosohy Isegoría. Those institutional endeavours and his dedication to other people's careers stopped him from finishing some works that his readers could now compose. Especially, once the materials generously bequeathed as Archives by his family are digitized. The “Imperative of Dissent" certifies that classics like Kant can be read profitably
