The objective of this study is to analyze the newsreels and institution films during the years from 1956-1961 understanding these images as historical documents. I will analyze the images of Juscelino Kubitschek and the pictures of the construction of the new federal capital, Brasília. These images of a dynamic, visionary and modern president were reinforced. Finally, I try to indicate the relationship between the mass media, the state and others politics actors.

O objetivo deste estudo é analisar cinejornais e filmes institucionais durante os anos 1956-1961, entendendo essas imagens como documentos históricos.
Examino as imagens de Juscelino Kubitschek e da construção da nova capital federal, Brasília. Tais imagens contribuíram para legitimá-lo como um presidente dinâmico, visionário e moderno. Por fim, mostro as relações entre os meios de comunicação, o estado e outros atores políticos.
