    La Universidad de Matanzas ha acumulado una rica historia y significativo patrimonio cultural universitario. Sin embargo, el patrimonio arquitectónico no ha sido objeto de suficientes análisis para su utilización en la formación integral. Por lo que se formuló como objetivo: Elaborar una propuesta de grupo científico estudiantil para la utilización del patrimonio arquitectónico de la Universidad de Matanzas en la formación integral de los estudiantes de Ingeniería civil. Se utilizó el Método Dialéctico Materialista y técnicas propias de la investigación histórica, empleando fuentes primarias del archivo de la Oficina de patrimonio cultural de la Universidad de Matanzas. El estudio permitió determinar la evolución arquitectónica de la Universidad y destacar sus valores socio-testimoniales, artísticos y ambientales. Se enunciaron las potencialidades de la utilización del patrimonio arquitectónico en la formación integral de los estudiantes de Ingeniería civil, realizando una propuesta de grupo científico estudiantil. Se concluye que convertir el patrimonio arquitectónico de la institución en objeto de estudio de los futuros ingenieros civiles constituye un importante resorte motivacional para el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas y profesionales.

    The University of Matanzas has accumulated a rich history and significant patrimony cultural university student. However, the architectural patrimony has not been object of enough analysis for its use in the integral formation. For what was formulated as objective: To elaborate a proposal of student scientific group for the use of the architectural patrimony of the University of Matanzas in the integral formation of the students of civil Engineering. The Dialectical Method Materialistic and technical characteristic of the historical investigation was used, using primary sources of the file of the Office of cultural patrimony of the University of Matanzas. The study allowed to determine the architectural evolution of the University and to highlight its partner-testimonial, artistic and environmental values. The potentialities of the use of the architectural patrimony were enunciated in the integral formation of the students of civil Engineering, carrying out a proposal of student scientific group. You concludes that to transform the architectural patrimony of the institution into object of the future civil engineers' study constitutes an important moving spring for the development of investigative abilities and professionals.
