La pericarditis es la inflamación del pericardio, un saco compuesto por membranas fibroelásticas que recubren el corazón. Se considera que en general es secundaria a infecciones, especialmente víricas.
Actualmente nos encontramos en un contexto de pandemia por la COVID-19, producida por el SARS-CoV-2. Este virus es responsable de múltiples patologías, entre las que debemos tener en cuenta la pericarditis.
Presentamos el caso de un varón de 48 años de edad, diagnosticado de pericarditis tras haber superado la COVID-19 un mes antes.
Pericarditis is the inflammation of the pericardium, a sac composed of fibroelastic membranes that cover the heart. As for its etiology, it is considered that most of them are due to infections, especially viral ones.
We are currently in the context of a pandemic of COVID-19 disease produced by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This virus produces multiple pathologies and among them we must take into account pericarditis.
We present the case of a 48 year-old male, who was diagnosed with pericarditis after having passed the COVID-19 one month ago.
