    Introducción. El personal de enfermería tiene un papel indispensable en la gestión del cuidado respecto a los futuros fines terapéuticos del cannabis, además de reconocer los roles disciplinares en estas instancias. El objetivo propuesto fue identificar el rol de enfermería en relación con el uso terapéutico del cannabis que manifiestan los estudiantes de la Universidad Mayor de Temuco.

    Sujetos y métodos. Es una investigación cualitativa con enfoque fenomenológico social de acuerdo con Alfred Schultz. La muestra fue de tipo intencional o selectivo, conformada por 20 estudiantes, previa firma del consentimiento informado, de 2018. La recolección de datos se hizo mediante dos grupos focales; para su análisis se utilizó un proceso manual y Atlas Ti en versión 7.0. Se utilizaron los criterios de rigor de Guba. Los aspectos éticos los valoró el comité ético de la universidad.

    Resultados. Surgieron tres categorías: gestión del cuidado, rol educativo y rol investigativo; las más mencionadas fueron las dos primeras, y la menos, la investigativa, y emerge la educación orientada hacia la comunidad.

    Conclusiones. Los estudiantes reconocen el rol asistencial en la gestión del cuidado en analgesia, atención directa y cuidados paliativos; que no hay vínculos administrativos; que el rol educativo es invisible en el currículo; resaltan la formación y la educación comunitarias con el uso de redes sociales y capacitación; y que falta investigación y la figura enfermera en ello

    Introduction. Nurses have an indispensable role in the management of care regarding the future therapeutic purposes of cannabis in addition to recognizing the disciplinary roles in these instances. The proposed objective was to identify the role of Nursing in relation to the therapeutic use of cannabis manifested by the students of the Universidad Mayor Temuco.

    Subjects and methods. Qualitative research with a social phenomenological approach according to Alfred Schultz. The Sample was of an intentional or selective type, made up of 20 students, after signing the Informed Consent, year 2018. Data collection through two focus groups; Manual process and Atlas Ti version 7.0 were used for their analysis. Guba’s rigorous criteria were used. Ethical aspects protected by the Ethics Committee of the University.

    Results. Three categories emerged: Care management, educational role, investigative role, the most mentioned were the first two and the least the investigative, community-oriented education emerges.

    Conclusions. The students recognize the care role in the management of care in analgesia, direct care and palliative care; there are no administrative links, invisible educational role in the curriculum, highlights the training and community education with the use of social networks and training; research is lacking and the nurse figure in it.
