Fishes belonging to genus Acentrogobius are considered as true gobiies (Gobiidae: Gobiinae), being distributed widely across the Indo-west pacific in estuarine to near-shore marine benthic habitats. Presently, 25 valid species are recognised in the genus, of which eight species have previously been reported from India. Present work reports the presence of two species of Acentrogobius namely A. gracilis and A. moloanus, from the mangrove ecosystem of Sunderban Biosphere Reserve, as new records for India and the region. Morphological data, coloration and wild habitat are detailed for both new records
