Parricide has been always considered as an especially repulsive crime and has evolved through the times with the concepts of family and person. Currently, the term is used to call the violent death of relatives that are close to the author of the crime, especially the father or mother, because parricide is that person killing relatives very close to him. The relationship between religion and mental health in the western culture has been accompanied by a history of agreements and disagreements during the last centuries. Religion, that is a strong part of the culture in many populations, is a factor influencing the thoughts and the social behavior of the people. There are many evidences of a link between religion and violent behavior, both in favor or against them. Religious beliefs could have a negative influence and provoke behaviors qualified as violence. Therefore, from the ancient times until the current days, both in very primitive socio- economic formations and in very developed ones, evidences have been found of suicides and homicides committed on religious fundamentalist or fanatic bases. In this term, the authors present the case of an individual, aged 35 years, without antecedents of psychiatric disturbances, who during an episode of acute mental disorder, characterized by mystical raving ideas caused by a mechanism of delusional production, killed his mother violently.
