The adoption of electric mobility is essential to advance towards the ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. It is therefore important to develop new technologies enhancing commercial batteries. Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) has the potential to improve the current technology of Li-ion, both in terms of performance and sustainability. Li-S batteries are emerging as a medium-long term alternative thanks to their high energy density (allowing for greater autonomy) and the abundance and low cost of sulfur active material as a by-product of the chemical and oil industries.
