The article intends to explore, based on Michel Foucault, the link between biopolitics, neoliberalism and the so-called war on drugs, in order to try to clarify the economic and political motivations that underlie the type of drug fight that prevails in the contemporary world. Brazil is not far from this type of policy that, supported by legitimizing discourses, such as medical discourse and even psychoanalysis, establish not only the division between those who must live and those who need to die, but also the conditions to justify any form. of exclusion and disqualification of peripheral populations, a justification that, ultimately, also affects the formulation of laws.
