Resumen de Del Buen Amor a La Celestina: apuntes sobre dos siglos de mujeres bajomedievales

El presente estudio se centra fundamentalmente en dos obras del corpus castellano medieval, el Libro de Buen Amor (siglo XIV) y La Celestina (finales siglo XV), como representativas de dos momentos históricos y de dos realidades concretas del Medievo, en las que analizaremos cómo se representa el rol femenino e intentaremos establecer algunas conclusiones válidas acerca de la mujer medieval, por un lado, y de los oficios o profesiones que esta desarrollaba-a la luz de los textos- por otro. Sin embargo, es vital recordar que la labor de etiquetar actividades profesionales femeninas en la Edad Media no es tarea fácil, y eso lo vamos a ver claramente en el caso de la figura de la tercera o medianera (Trotaconventos y Celestina), en la cual se solapan un buen montón de funciones diversas.

The present study focuses mainly in two works of the Castilian medieval corpus, the Libro de Buen Amor (XIVth century) and La Celestina (end of XVth century), as representative of two historic moments and two concrete realities of the Middle Ages, in which we will analyze how the feminine role is represented and try to establish some valid conclusions about not only medieval women as a genre or category, but specially the occupations or professions that they use to evolve as far as the texts tell us. It is compulsory, though, to remember that labeling professional feminine activities during the Middle Ages is not an easy task, and this will be more than evident when approaching the tercera or medianera (Trotaconventos and Celestina), figure that appears furnished with diverse functions. Our intent is to build up a reflection about the feminine condition through the texts, focusing our attention in the diverse occupations of these medieval women.
