    • Kira Robison, Healers in the Making. Students, Physicians, and Medical Education in Medieval Bologna (1250–1550). Leiden-Boston: Brill, 2021. x, 199 pp. 110€. ISBN 978-90-04-38038-7.

Kira Robison’s book sets out to examine medical education in the late Middle Ages through the lens of anatomy. To do so, Robison has chosen the context of Bologna, site of an important Studium of medicine, where in 1316, as it is well known, the doctor medicinae Mondino Liuzzi, with his work Anothomia, consecrated anatomical dissection of human corpses as a didactic tool.
