Resumen de La jota y la taranta: ritualidad de la música y la danza en la cultura tradicional aragonesa

  La tarantela ha sido desde hace siglos el remedio musical empleado en Italia para curar a quienes eran picados por la tarántula, llamada de manera simbólica «taranta». En España, las fuentes también confirman la presencia del mismo fenómeno y de su terapia con ese estilo musical y en Aragón con la jota. En el presente estudio se esboza una línea argumental que pone en relación la jota y la tarantela, su posible origen común y su relación con los estados de posesión. Además, se vinculan las características anímicas ligadas con la melancolía que, en contextos sociales de marginación cultural y económica, han desencadenado fenómenos culturales que se han materializado en el empleo de la música y la...y en España.

  For centuries, the tarantella has been the musical remedy used in Italy to cure those bitten by the tarantula, symbolically called «taranta». In Spain, sources also confirm the presence of the same phenomenon and therapy for it with this style of music and in Aragon with the jota.

  This paper outlines a line of argument relating the jota with the tarantella, their possible common origin and their relationship with states of possession. Links are also drawn with the psychic characteristics associated with melancholy which, in contexts of cultural and economic marginalisation, have led to cultural phenomena which have materialised in the use of music and dance
