    El objetivo del presente artículo es poder dar cuenta acerca del planteamiento de Brasil del concepto de Responsabilidad Al Proteger; doctrina que vendría a re-interpretar la Responsabilidad de Proteger, nacida a inicios de los 2000. Esta propuesta buscaba posicionar al gigante sudamericano como un actor responsable y comprometido con la arena internacional, actitud que validaba su búsqueda de convertirse en un jugador global. Asimismo, el texto busca explicar el impacto, o no, que tuvo la situación interna del país en la evolución de la Responsabilidad Al Proteger y qué sucedió finalmente con la misma.

    The aim of this paper is to account for Brazil’s attempt to present the concept of Responsibility while Protecting, the doctrine that appears to reinterpret Responsibility to Protect, which came into existence in the early 2000s. This proposal sought to position South America’s giant as a responsible and committed actor within the international arena, an attitude that consolidated its intention to become a global player. Moreover, this paper seeks to explain whether the domestic situation of the country had an impact or not on the evolution of Responsibility while Protecting and what happened with it.
